Mykola Tomenko: the Parliament responded to the political and conspiratorial activity of the Security Service of Ukraine.
The Parliament suggests that the President of Ukraine should cancel the Decree of 19 October 2007 concerning appointment of Tyberiy Durdynets to the post of Deputy Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Head of the Chief Department in charge of fighting corruption and organized crime. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted a corresponding Resolution by 366 votes.
"The resolution concerning dismissal of Tyberiy Durdynets is a response of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on a political and conspiratorial character of activity of the Security Service of Ukraine. The Security Service of Ukraine should not be concerned with political prosecution of politicians or wiretapping; it should secure safety of Ukrainian citizens and perform functions envisaged by the legislation", - stated Mykola Tomenko after the voting for a relevant Resolution.
